This hike takes in the views of the Lac de Serre-Ponçon and gives you a close-up view of the Aiguilles de Chabrière.

Important information

Dans le Parc national des Écrins, les sentiers sont généralement praticables de la mi-juin à fin septembre.

Toutefois, les périodes d'accessibilité des itinéraires et les dates de pose des passerelles varient d’une année à l’autre en fonction de l’enneigement, des dégâts survenus en hiver et des conditions météorologiques. Par ailleurs, l’état des sentiers n’est pas contrôlé quotidiennement et peut évoluer rapidement après un évènement météorologique (orage, crue...). Il est nécessaire de se renseigner auprès des maisons du parc national et des offices de tourisme du territoire avant votre sortie. Pendant la randonnée, en cas de passage dégradé ou dangereux, faites demi-tour et signalez-le.

Description

  1. From the ski pass ticket offices, turn left towards the forest to join a wide track. Turn right uphill, then left at the intersection.
  2. At the "Piste de Joubelle" post turn right onto the uphill path. Further on, this joins a track that you have to follow uphill.
  3. Once you reach a flat area at the edge of the forest, go left, winding through the forest to reach another track higher up which you must take on the way up. This leads to a clearing; cross it and then climb the slope to the right. The path leaves the forest at the "Serre du mouton" post.
  4. From here, continue uphill until you reach the first lookout.
  5. Go back up the ski slope for 200m, then turn left after some cliffs on a steep climb. Follow the ridge to the top of the station and continue as far as an orientation table beneath the majestic Aiguilles de Chabrières.
  6. The return journey takes the same route.

    Milk Vetch

    The astragalus alopercurus (from alopex: fox and oura; tail) is a spectacular plant due to its size. It has long leaves with many leaflets. It blossoms when the weather gets warmer and shows off a beautiful cluster of flowers at the top of a tall hairy stem. Several yellow corolla grow out through thick protective hair to take in the sunshine and the warm summer winds.
